GURL DON'T BE DUMB: RANCH

Whitney Bradshaw, Hani Eid, Tony Favarula, Jackie Furtado, Alysia Kaplan, Cole Don Kelley, Eileen Mueller, Julie Oh, Corkey Sinks, and Jamie Steele

Curated by GURL DON’T BE DUMB

Iceberg Projects presents RANCH curated by the Chicago-based duo GURL DON’T BE DUMB. RANCH is an end of summer meditation on camp, Camp, and August’s inevitable return to the domestic. Having spent the summer months escaping the sprawl and burrowing into the wild, we return to the city feral. In this space we consider where we nested in the woods and seek to re-wild our domesticated city dwellings.

GDBD is a Chicago-based curatorial project founded in late 2011 by Eileen Mueller and Jamie Steele. From the start their goal has been to showcase the connective threads that spread between the work and research happening in the community of artists around them and contemporary work at large. GDBD traffics in work that reclaims rejected notions of femininity, superficiality, surface, and relevance with irreverence and total genius. www.gurldontbedumb.com
