Oli Rodriguez: Papi
June 20th, 2021 - July, 18th 2021
Curated by John Neff
In 2020, Candor Arts, Chicago, published Papi, a comprehensive survey of artist Oli Rodriguez’s long-term multimedia work The Papi Project (2010-20). A cornerstone of Rodriguez’s practice for over a decade, The Papi Project documented histories of HIV/AIDS in Chicago, digital technology’s effects on queer sex culture, and shifting definitions of family over the past forty years. In the current exhibition at Iceberg Projects, the artist -- working with curator John Neff and gallery Assistant Director Maggie Wong -- will celebrate the release of Papi in the context of an archival exhibition looking back at past presentations of The Papi Project.
